| How to get and play free Music | ||
| It
is incredibly easy to retrieve and play 100% free music through MP3 files
over the internet. The internet is a beautiful thing. All you need is an
internet connection, a computer with speakers, and if you have a CD burner
you can also make your own CD's.
First, you need to download two different programs. The basic version of Musicmatch is free. The Kazaa software is also free. Before you download these two programs I strongly suggest you first create a separate folder on your hard drive for your MP3 files. When setting up these two programs instruct them to use your MP3 folder for storing and retrieving the MP3 files. Musicmatch is an MP3 player and it will play the MP3 files downloaded from the internet. The Musicmatch software will also burn CD's for you (CD-R). It also provides you with the capability of creating your own CD covers. Kazaa is a website that functions as a library for MP3 files. Once you download the software you have full access to the Kazaa "community". This is where you will have to search and find the music you want. There is usually anywhere from 500,000 songs to well over a million at any given time. Having a good modem really pays off when you download music. With a 56K modem a song will normally take about 20 minutes to download. With a DSL modem the same song downloads in about 90 seconds. There is a couple of things to know about Kazaa. First, if you want good quality music you need to download songs with a bitrate of at least 160kbps. Also, the speed you can download songs at is not only dependant on your modem, but it is equally important that the host computer has good upload speed, i.e. Cable, DSL, T1, T2, T3 speed. Once you are up and running you can start compiling your music collection. To find some of the latest music available you can use the top rated music from different radio stations; www.power96.com Miami, Florida www.nrj.se Stockholm, Sweden
